She has published six textbooks and 40 teaching aids over the past 10 years in the academic specialty 19.00.07, educational psychology.
She is a Doctor of Psychology and Professor in the Department of Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages, Pedagogy, and Psychology at the N. A. Dobrolyubov Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University (NGLU).
She has 280 publications, 40 of which are used in the educational process.
Since 2018, G.V. Sorokoumova has edited the annual collection of materials from the international conference "Psychological Safety of the Educational Environment" (issues 1 in 2018, 2 in 2019, 3 in 2020, and 4 in 2021). She is a member of the editorial board of the scientific journal "Education Development."
G. V. Sorokoumova supervises research and final qualifying theses for undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students in the psychological field of educational psychology. She is a member of the Dissertation Council of NGLU 24.2.344.01 in the specialty 5.8.2. Theory and Methods of Teaching and Upbringing (Foreign Languages, General and Vocational Education) (Pedagogical Sciences).

Our goal is to equip future medical specialists with tools to maintain emotional well-being and psychological resilience.
Mental self-regulation is the foundation of a professional personality. It is a set of techniques and methods that help a person adjust their psychophysiological state. It makes it possible to optimise both mental and somatic functions of the body, which in turn contributes to improving overall quality of life.
